Dulce de nance (Yellow Cherry Jam) is a traditional dessert from El Salvador made from yellow cherry. This sweet treat is popular during the summer season when yellow cherrys are ripe and ready to be harvested. It's a dessert with exceptional flavor and a tempting aroma, sweetened and bathed in delicious panela syrup.

Ingredientes

  • 3 cups Mama Tere yellow cherry
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 Mama Tere sugar cane juicy

Preparación

  1. Wash the Mama Tere yellow cherry and place them in cold water. Cook covered in a medium pot over medium heat until they soften, about 45 minutes.
  2. Uncover, add the Mama Tere sugar cane juicy chopped into pieces, and mix. Cook for an additional hour over medium heat.
  3. Remove the softened yellow cherries from the syrup, cover the pot, and move it away from the stove. Allow it to cool slightly, then use a grinder or your hands to separate the yellow cherrys from the seeds, forming a mashed texture.
  4. Return them to the pot and cook for 10 more minutes. Stir constantly with a wooden spoon as it thickens.
  5. Remove from heat and continue stirring until it cools to warm. Form small balls with your hands and let them rest for a few minutes.
  6. Plate and drizzle with the prepared sugar cane juicy syrup.
